How to Handle Doubt When Manifesting

Experiencing doubt is normal even for people that have been doing mindset work for years, your friends who are super positive, they still experience doubt sometimes. Doubt is something you’ll experience more often as someone knew to this space, the more you improve your mindset, the less doubt will creep in and the easier it will be for you to deal with it. Doubt doesn’t mean your manifestations aren’t coming, it just means your subconscious beliefs are not in alignment with your dreams and desires. The goal isn’t to never feel doubt, it’s to know how to move through it without letting it derail your faith or your energy.

Why Doubt Shows Up

Doubt usually arises from either old beliefs (your old subconscious programming) feeling like things don’t work out for you. Impatience/attachment to timing which causes you to start thinking “well where is it?" “when is it coming?”. Lack of evidence, maybe your desires feel unrealistic or unfamiliar. And fear of disappointment, you don’t want to get your hopes up. Doubt isn’t a bad thing, it just means we need to figure out what’s causing this doubt and adjust your belief system to match your desires and dreams.

Ways to Handle Doubt

  1. Acknowledge the doubt, don’t suppress it. Trying to '“positive vibe” your way our the doubt doesn’t work. We need to dig deeper as to why the doubt is arising. Journaling your way through it is a great way to figuring out where the doubt is coming from. Write down, “I’m feeling doubt because….” and let whatever you feel come out onto paper. Don’t suppress it or second guess, usually the first thing that comes to mind or that you feel in your gut is what’s holding you back. Write down the first thing to come to mind. If this doesn’t work, use other prompts to figure out where the doubt is coming from. “What am I afraid of?” “Is this my belief or did I inherit it?” “What will happen if this doesn’t come true?”. Once you bring into light where the doubt is coming from, it loses its grip.

  2. Look for Evidence of Possibility. When you doubt, you’re focusing on the lack. Shift your attention to the possibility, find the light. Try making a list of things that have worked out for you, when you notice good things going on in your life, it aligns your energy with abundance and positivity. You open up more good possibilities and opportunities to you. If this doesn’t work, try looking into other people’s lives and success stories but make sure you’re looking at it from a place of expansion, not comparison. Sometimes it’s easier to notice other people’s successes than our own, and we can look at their life and say “Well if they did it, so can I”. Really start to admire and celebrate other people’s successes, more good things will start happening in your life. Just keep in mind you cannot envy, judge, or criticize other people’s success, this will block off any good manifestations to come your way.

  3. Re-anchor into Your “Why”. Doubt often disconnects your from why you are manifesting your desire in the first place. Ask yourself: “Why do I want this?”, “How will this upgrade my life?”, “Who do I become as a result?”. It’s better when your “why” is rooted with good, positive purpose. For example, do you want to obtain wealth because you want to flaunt it or do you want to obtain wealth because it gives you freedom, experiences, and makes you feel safe? When your why is strong and authentic, your belief becomes stronger.

  4. Strengthen Your Identity. Most doubt isn’t actually about whether your desire or dream is possible, it’s about whether it’s possible for you. You might hear or feel within yourself, “I’ve seen other’s live freely… but am I really someone who gets to live that way?” or “I know some people make a lot of money but I just don’t think that’s possible for me”. If you feel like this resonates with you, I want you to focus on what your future self will be like once you obtain this dream or desire. How will wealth positively impact your life? How will the future wealthy version of you act, dress, eat, what will your daily routine be like? Once you have visualized this, start acting like your future self in whatever areas possible. Get creative. You have to become the version of you who already has your desire/dream. Even if it’s just an energy shift, this will get you aligned quickly and allows manifestations to come your way.

  5. Let Go of the “How” and “When”. Doubt often creeps in when you get overly focused on how and when it will happen. When we focus in this way, all we can see is the lack of our desire. Worry creeps in which misaligns your energy. Remember, when we focus on lack we cannot attract our desires. Your job is to focus on the what and the energy. The universe’s job is to handle the how and when. Try this affirmation: “My only job is to stay aligned, inspired, and open.”

  6. Do Something to Shift Your Energy. If you spiral into doubt, the quickest reset is to change your energy. Try going for a walk, listening to high-vibration music, use breath work or a guided visualization, clean your space or do something creative. Sometimes a nap is even needed if we find ourselves in a really negative place. Sometimes we just need a energy reset. Remember to always surround yourself with good positive energy.

You Can Manifest with Doubt

Don’t wait to feel 100% certain to move forward, that day might never come. Faith is a choice. Each time you choose belief over fear, you're strengthening the energetic signal you're sending out.
