How to Use Vision Boards to Manifest Your Dream Life
One of my favorite manifesting techniques is creating a vision board, perfect for someone like me who’s a very visual person! A vision board is a powerful way to focus on the things you want to bring into your life, like buying a home, starting a new career, traveling, earning more money, or anything else you dream of.
How to Make a Vision Board
I personally love making physical vision boards. There’s something special about printing out photos and seeing them displayed in my office every day. But if digital is more your style, you can easily create one on your phone or computer and set it as your lock screen, something I do in addition to my physical vision boards. To get started, think about your goals, values, and dreams for the next six months to a year. Use some words that align with your goals, dreams, and values and put them into Pinterest, my favorite way to get photos for my vision board. There’s so much inspiration on Pinterest. You can also simply google or go the old fashion route and cut out pictures from magazines.
Once you have photos in hand, get a poster board or a larger frame and start arranging the photos using glue or tape. You can also add affirmations to your vision board, either right them on a piece of paper or type them out and print them. It makes the vision board look even more appealing having a mix of photos and affirmations. Making a vision board can be a super fun activity to do with friends! It’s a tradition of mine to create a new one every year, and it never gets old.
What to Include In Your Vision Board
For me personally, I like to include a mix of all parts of my life. From work, money, relationships, travel, and more. I love traveling, so I always have travel destinations on my vision board, I also include goals of mine, so this year a goal of mine is to buy another investment property, so I added a picture of a multifamily unit. A certain hobby I want to adopt this year is watercoloring, so I included that in my vision board. I also value health a lot so I have photos of healthy foods, working out, inner peace, etc. The majority of my photos tend to do with goals or desires I have for that year, but I do include some photos that align with my overall life goals that I know will not come to fruition this year, but it’s a good way for me to stat aligned with my life’s vision. That can include things like my dream home, growing old with my husband, and a family. Finally, I print out 5-6 different affirmations that align with my overall life vision and/or vision for the year.
What to Do With Your Vision Board
The key is to place your vision board somewhere you’ll see it often, like in your office, bedroom, or anywhere you spend time daily. Seeing it multiple times a day keeps your goals and dreams front and center in your mind. It’s a visual reminder of the life you’re creating and can even enhance your practice if you pair it with visualization meditations. Just take a few moments to reflect on your board, imagining yourself living that life, it’s such an amazing way to stay aligned with your goals.
Once you want to make a new vision board, save this one. Either buy a new frame/poster board and store it, or take off the photos (carefully) and put it in an envelope. There’s nothing quite like the feeling of realizing a dream and remembering it was once on your vision board, whether it happens six months or even five years later. It’s a beautiful reminder of the power of intention and the magic of staying connected to your vision.
